Novel Beginnings: Charles Dickens Birthday Virtual Conference

Following the success of the virtual memorial conference, ‘Dickens and Death’, the Dickens Society is pleased to announce another virtual conference; ‘Novel Beginnings; Charles Dickens Birthday Virtual Conference’.

The event will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2026 via zoom. We are very pleased to present a panel of 5 papers submitted by Dickensian scholars and enthusiasts, all exploring different aspects of birthdays, renewal, and beginnings. 

We warmly invite anyone who is looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon and would like to learn something new about Dickens’s work, writing, or life. 

The panel will run for 2 hours, beginning at 12:00 PM CST, recorded presentations will be shared and a live discussion with time for questions will follow.
